'77 Colnago Mexico, 1st gen super record, new years project

Blimey........last time I looked at fully chroming a frame, my Carlton Flyer, it worked out at about £700.

The mix of bits I mentioned is that the SR Front Mech had black anodising, the SR seat post had two bolts under the saddle, pedal axles and BB were titanium, the brakes have straight QR's whilst the skewers are curved and not sure about the rubber on the wheel guides.......Campag had to change a lot of things to stop them being to "stabby" in an accident in the 70's.

BITD I would have killed for a Colnago or a Viner :)

yes that's the one, mine is patented '77, was that when they were first issued?
I looked at velobase and drew my assumptions,
the levers are stated as late '70s
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=26
as are the calipers
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=25
would mine have been factory altered?
seat post appears the same, listed as "nuovo sr"
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=37
the record rd of that era looked like this
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=12
the record like this
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=11
and the super record fd 1979 -to 1987
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=13
my sr rd pre dates this by 2 years so for that group era velobase list no sr fd, would the 77 sr group have come with a record fd?
I guess the Italians must have kept all the black stuff then
any more input is helpful!

lol

this is interestng,
the 1975 campagnolo catalog (respect due to Velobase again)
http://velobase.com/Resource_Tools/CatalogScans.aspx
I'll copy the Super Record page and post, no sign of any fd with black anodisation, the two pinned sr seatpost is there, so I will change my Nuovo SR one for that, was quite marked and would have taken some polishing anyway , would be fun to put the group together the same as the '75 catalog ay?

this is the only other 1st gen sr rd I have seen and touched
