80/100mm Fork, All The Toys, Clydesdale, Lightweight, CHEAP!

Rebas surely?! Strong, light, air, pop loc. New from £250 maybe ten or so less. Try Merlin or On-one. Just my opinion, never used magura forks so can't comment, but rock shox spares are easy to come by which is a big plus in my mind.

I've just acquired my first pair of Rock shox for over ten years- Reba SL with Motion control etc. I'm very impressed with them. They badly needed a service and I was pleasantly surprised to find all the seals at TFtuned for less than £30. Magura will not sell you any seals , other than wiper seals, but it is rare that you will need them. (I never have).
I picked up a new MoCo cartridge on the bay and that has transformed them even more. The lockout was working but was on -off, not adjustable threshold as it should have been.
Great action, but nowhere near as stiff as Maguras, even the Durin SLs...

The Floats are RLC, once they are serviced they will be fine for now.

I am stuck in that mind-set of buying a £999 second hand part for £300 rather than a new part for £300.

Not always the best way when technologies progress so fast!

Apparently these X-Fusion Velvet are pretty decent for around that money.

I actually feel happier on metal springs, but it is a pisser when you want to swap bikes with folks and such.

You need to get or at least have a serious look at the Marzocchi Corsa SL's, as far as i can make out they basically tick all your boxes.

I bought a set for the wifes bike (2011) ones and was massively impressed, build quiality is back to old marz standards weight was re-assuring in a way that marzocchi tends to be and the performance was like that of a very good spring fork, desbit being air sprung but with a coil negative spring.

Very easy to tune, lock out and rebound and a full 3 year guarentee.

Think i got mine in the sale but they weren't expensive around your budget it think?

I scored some Ronin's off FleaBay as well, anyone have deep feelings about those?

The steerer is too short, but I didn't read the ad as I was doing some scatter gun bids.

I will probably sell them on soon, but it gives me a chance to try out that dampner system.

:)

Had a couple of pairs of Ronins myself, never really got on with them, shifted to Rebas & much happier, so easy to service & keep in tip top condition.

The Ronins are stiff as an eighteen year old on Viagra. (????)

Very tweakable, and seriously plush once dialled in.

Foxs are a revelation, light smooth compliant yet take serious hits beautifully. I have ridden bikes with these on before but not owned them so setting them up in detail is new to me.

Overall I am convinced about £100 s/h forks once fettled.

This opens up a whole new world for me in terms of cheapness versus performance.

Happy bunny.

Rebas. Don't get any criticism of stiffness. Leg size is massive and even quick release track perfect and solid. Perfect forks.
