1991 Cannondale M500

What a cool bike.

I love dales and I brought a 22" bike from ebay which was badly listed. When it came it had a full XT group set and was in really good nic.
Last month I brought another 18" SM500 in blue like this one. A bargain for £27 off the bay with an honest description "bottom bracket seized, local bike shop couldn't get it out". Well 10mins the welder I got it out.

All I need to do now is get the 18" painted, and rebuild them into 1 bike.

Do you want the original SM500 blue forks? They are not pepperoni or P-bone forks, just std.

Yes, it's a 1991, so it's a "SM 500" not a "M500" : the "S" desapeared in 92 ;)
It seems to be a small size, perhaps a 15" ?

15" C-C, 17" C-T. Shortish top tube so I assume its a small size therefore 15" sounds right. :)

I have a seat post for it but the size isn't readable. Anyone home what size it is?

I had a 3.0 series 'dale a couple of years later than this and it was a 27.2

dont think the tube specs changed much

All the dales I have are 27.2

Sweet, I have a couple of that size so will try them out. Thanks!

I am going to strip all the paint and polish it up. Any idea what is good for paint stripping now that Nitro-Mors has changed and now doesn't work very well?
