Hi guys.

Hope someone here can advise me please.

I am putting together an Airbourne though I am not quite sure which model it is. Maybe someone can tell from below.

In the picture it has a USE Alien Ti post marked 27.2 which I believe is the correct size. I can insert it with twisting and a saddle as leverage but it is very 'grindy' going in and quite tight.

I have a second post which I prefer. Like the colour more and on my scales it is only 25g heavier than the Alien. A fair trade I think. This is also marked 27.2 but just slips in by itself.

I have ordered a new clamp from CRC size 31.8mm.

Now, at last the question. With the second post that slips in so easy am I thightening the clamp too much with the possibility of frame damage?

Sorry. Perhaps that is a tad too long but thought the detail may help.

In anticpation, thank you.

Have you given the post and the inside of the tube a good scrub clean.

But it may well just be the USE is slightly thicker on it's tolerance and the other is slightly thinner.

Can you measure them in any way to see. (vernier ?)

No idea at all with Airborne though.

Thanks Fluffy. Feels smooth inside as far as I can feel. Will check how rough the post is.

Do not have a gauge. Bit technical for me :)
