Stumpy Mudguards

As said they look good, give a period feel but in terms of what a mudguard should do, ie keep the water off the rider, sadly they don't work.

Agghhhhhhh!!! Nice! Never heard of them. That's that sorted then. Found rubber lined p clips on the bay for £3 delivered (5 of them). I might need to shorten the length of the mudguard rods a bit but that's an easy job.
