I took my daughters 'new' bike to work today and finally finished it.

It'll get christened at the weekend. :D

It was meant to be a really low budget build but the frame came with an XT front mech and after that it would have been rude not to stay XT.

Levers/shifters are M739
Rear mech M739
Brakes M739
I wanted 737 cranks but couldn't find any so robbed the M900 cranks and rings off the box of bits labelled Torus.
Same thing with the X-lite bars.

I'll was considering upgrading the cassette and wheelset, but they work so they'll probably stay as is now.

A shorter 1" stem with some rise would be good though.

13.5" I think.

She sat on it tonight and its still a bit tall for her. I'll have to chop the seat post again tomorrow. Also would like a shorter stem as she's a bit stretched out at the mo.

She is only 8.

Looks great.

If it has bolts for bottle cages on the seat tube that you can remove maybe you won't have to cut the post.

Thanks for that. I did try that, but the post catches the threaded section, which is proud on the inside of the seat tube.

I've already cut the post down by 4" so it just needs another 2" off.
