Retro Newbie
Hi guys,
Been lurking here for the longest time. Have recently chanced upon a good condition frameset locally and thus embarking on my first retrobike build.
Im gonna keep it simple by building it singlespeed.

Still looking out for wheels, bars, levers, front brakes (cantis or Vs?? ), chainring and pedals....

here are the pics of the frame

bought some parts today. just to share.
having problems finding cantis...so just bought the only set they have.

bought a used pair of wheels with Deore hubs.
3 broken spokes but they are cheap. gonna have them fixed.

got most of the parts on hand now.
grips, cables, chain, pedals and tyres will be purchased at the LBS which will assemble the bike.

Hi there, Niiiiiiiice... I have recently put together a 93 Timberline as a singlespeed. I rescued it from a seller on Gumtree.
I replaced the Cantis with V-brakes but left the high nosebleeder stem on since it matched the paintjob

How are you going to do the singlespeed? A chain tensioner or an eccentric hub (which is probably worth more than the Timberline itself)?
Your Timberline is in great condition.

Mine is here.

It was cleaned up and some parts replaced, non matching Ourys installed
 Not a full-on rebuild, just SS it and make it a bit better. It is one *very* rigid frame. Love to take it around Burkit Timah one day :D

bike completed!!

brought everything down to the good old trusted LBS to get it fixed up!
cant wait for my first ride.
weathers been terrible as its raining everyday in singapore

Mine has vertical dropouts - I wish I had your slotted ones :)

I did quite a bit of work for one of your telco's there, I've been there quite a few times, plus had a friend that lived next door to Burkit Timah.
It was pretty warm when I went there and the monkey's in the carpark rock  Singapore is great.

That looks really nice - T-Bone stem might look better but I've never liked Uno ones anyway. The original stem would match the frame but IIRC is quite high rise.
