Maybe we should spend more on fusion research. Worldwide spending on research into fusion is around £1 billion a year, which isn't much when you consider the benefits if we could harnesss it for our power needs. In the UK we spend more on ringtones than we do on fusion research. What would happen to the ecomony and the oil and gas industry however if fusion became viable tomorrow? I'd be out of a job for starters!!!!
