1989 Orange Formula - pic update

Looks very tidy indeed, can't wait to see it in the flesh.

One point re. the builder - in photo DSC-0105 the details are exactly like on the pink and white Yates I had a couple of years ago, from shot in seat stays to curved seat stay bridge to pump peg. Not sure that means anything but the similarities are striking.

It'll look even better all covered in mud.

As for Dave's records, I have two of his, and all Debbie can confirm from the frame number is the year of manufacture.

Is there any info left at M-Steel on these early frames?
 
Looks fantastic and cant wait to see it built!

I remember seeing this on ebay and thinking "no, it cant be a formula, hang on, it is!"

Then I started to think how I could keep it quiet, soon realising that wouldn't happen I outed it :LOL:

Dave hasn't seen the bike in person - I sent a load of pictures, he took a good look confirmed it wasn't one of his - the serial number was also the wrong construct.

I guess that if you think about the context that these bike were built - to a evolving Orange design it is not surprising that some detail will have been carried over from the Yates built Tushingham Works Replicas and first two Yates built Formulas to the next six Donohue built Formulas.

Started the build tonight - just waiting on the wheels :( should be able to pick them up tomorrow :D

Also managed to get a NOS 27.2mm XT seatpost off of here today which will go on as soon as it arrives :D
