install new tubular base tape

I've just got a pair of older CX tubulars, but have to install new base tape. What kind of tape should I use? Ordinary cloth tape would be ok, or should buy sg special? And... what about glue? Could I use tubular glue?

Dont use tub glue, use copydex.

I'm not sure where you'd get new basetape from and i've never actually replaced a complete one; i've sent to peter Burgin in the past.

If a tub got to the stage of needing a whole new basetape I'd think about throwing it away and buying a new one.........

Raid one off a knackered tub. Dunno about glue but its got to be strong hasn't it. I have happily run tubs with no base tape, just lots of glue.
