. I sold mine on ebay in about 2004 for £250!

WOW

That would buy a lot of bike stuff - looking for a good condition set of m900 XTR shifter/levers, but baulked at prices so far.

Nice find.

It really does amaze me what people will throw away, rather than drop off at the local charity shop.

Still, at least it got rescued in time.

It's a sad indictment of modern society that people will chuck out something which needs probably no more than £100 spending on it, and with care will last another 30+ years, when you can't actually buy an adult's bike for £100

Something about knowing the price of everything, and the value of nothing. Oscar Wilde I think.

In the past year I've been to the dump about 15 times. I've picked up five bikes/frames for myself, two of which I kept and three that have sold for around £350, plus at least 20 that have been given to the local community bike recycling scheme.

Just think of the other 350 days I haven't gone and the potentially great bikes that have been scrapped!
