Hi All
Look the weather is bad..and well I couldnt wait until I put the bar tape on and wait for another sunny day to take some pictures so here is my almost finished 1990/91 Bottechia SLX sans cinelli white cork ribbon and plugs!
I hold the frame very dear to my heart as I acquired it off a friend with a habit of upgrading in 1992. To my dismay he had it repainted before I got it in blue/white fade but originally it was as it is presented here. I raced this bike for about 5 years then moved on and it became a winter bike then eventually gave it away to "Sheffied" who 5 years later gave it back!!! A kind guy from the states sent me the catalogue pictures and I set about the re-finish and rebuild. Here's a summary of the spec

Frame : Fully refurbished strip back to the metal and rechromed and sprayed
Rear and front mech c-record, chainset 1993 Chorus, pedals 1989 Athena, 11cm Cinelli IR, bars 42cm Giro D'Italia, brakes late eighties Triomophe/Chorus?, brake levers c-record, gear levers c-record (8 speed insert removed to make friction only) seatpin Athena , saddle New San Marco Regal
Wheels campag Omega Strada on Chorus with Regina 7 speed freewheel

Bring on the summer so it can be ridden!!

Very nice bike but the next time you put up 'in your face' pictures make sure the odd bit of chain is hidden will you

Ha ha! Well spotted Ian Raleigh.

To think this was the bare bones of a bike attached to my turbo trainer for the best part of 3 years. The rest of the time it sat with a mish-mash of shite bits as a pub bike - Sorry DD...

Get the tape on it and get it up for 'Road bike of the Month' December/Jan.

Phil
