For your consideration Gents, here's my winter bike. Airborne Ti Hag SS, Mavic Crossmax ceramic rims, Nokian 296 Extremes, Tektro Quartz v-brakes, TRP brake levers, Middleburn Uno 32T, Shimano DX 18T sprocket and Pace RC31 upfront. 9.5 Kg included 2 Kg of tyres. It's an absolute joy to ride.

Picture taken on todays first real winter ride. -9 C with lots of compact snow and ice - just the way I like it ;)

Let me introduce the swap donkey, ive been trying to replace her for years but she just wont die!
Spec highlights include
Homebrew 69r logic
Salsa steel fork, its colour matched too, well as long as the bike is a bit dirty
Odd brakes
Odd cranks
Hand painted BMX chain
Ghetto tubeless tyres
Obligatory mudguards
Well you did say winter hacks...

Now this must qualify as a winter hack...
cheap and cheerful Kona clunker complete with 3 speed hub gears, coaster brake and mudguards. And of course snow!

Although relatively heavy, the HEDs do avoid picking up too much baggage in the form of mud/ snow.

Sorry, I did try but I just can't seem to get my bikes filthy here. :LOL: Taken today, If it makes anyone feel better it was bitterly cold first thing. This is my parts bin beater made up of SLX, XT and XTR, 8I7's, Kore and lots of Nuke Proof all connected to a steel 456 and Bombers.
As a life long weight weenie this is the first bike I've built for strength and it all makes for a great ride. :D

Oops, it's the 23rd already. Sorry guys, I competely forgot that I moved it from the 25th to the 20th. :oops:

Guess I'll move the deadine to Dec 24th at 23:00 GMT. It'l be a shorter poll, this one.
