Hi,

Has anyone any pointers regarding locating crank dust caps for Shimano 600ax cranks. They are available on ebay but are too expensive (for me).

Are they a standard fitting?

Yes, they are standard. The simplest way is to buy allen key bolts which have a collar to fit flush. Campagnolo ones are by far the nicest.

Beyond that, buy some self-extracting bolts and these will fit nice and neatly removing the need for caps.

Standard 600ax were self extracting rather than dust caps....

Totally AWESOME invention the self extracting bolts! Just AWESOME back in the day.

Shimano waited for the patent protection to expire before bringing theirs out. Here are the Magistroni Super Zenith cranks that I have on my 1965 Masi.
