just picked this up today, cost me £35 off ebay.
the paint is in surprisingly good condition.
although the gears & brakes are going to be changed to xt.
i always wanted one of these bitd.
could be a while before i actually ride this due to limited funds.
but i do love the colour.

Bradley Wiggins would never have been hit if he was riding something this bright :)

Nowt wrong with the 400LX mechs and chainset... They only weigh a few grams more than XT ;)

DX brakes/levers/thumbies would probably cost a lot less.

spent some time stripping the bike down.
had to take it to my lbs to remove the bottom bracket.

yes, the tyres are original. by the looks of it this bike has had an easy life. although i was lucky the bottom bracket came off.
lots of rust inside the bottom bracket shell.

i have one of these too and they ride very well, i upgraded my brakes to lx and am going to swap the sti's to a mo90/92 hybrid set.

when just riding the stem feels too long but when off road it feels fine.

tyres seem to perform ok in the dry too, wont take mine in the mud as the paint is too good

I remember this off ebay last week.. looks like it's been kept indoors all it's life... My one is a bit faded on the top tube..

I feel the same way about 500/400/300 etc.. i think it's just the numbers. nothing wrong with the kit really, just doesn't work for me.. I swapped mine for '89 mountain LX set i had lying around,,

There have been quite a few of these recently ... someone should start a 1990 courier comp thread?

what a bargain!
