got a T5, 1.9 tdi panel van, love it.
happily sits at 85-90 on the motorway, except for long drags, but never so bad that it's an issue.
drives really nice, comfortable position.
540miles till the fuel light comes on.
i pay £350 for insurance (37 no points, 10+ no claims) £215 for tax
had mine converted inside and some body stuff done aswel.

I did find your post on here & really like it! I think for the moment, I'd be cash strapped to get just a van. I'm not sure I'd be carrying people, so may keep it with seats just up front, but like the idea of splitting the storage/seating...
The Insurance costs I'll do a 'Go Compare' but Loving the fuel consumption! I'm getting seriously Peed with the GTI I'm driving!...
I've also signed up to the T4 Forum, and will keep looking on the Van sales...

Until funds allow, a late 90s Sprinter MWB would be a great alternative.

Yes, I have had my share of Vitos too, if you can' t live with the extra height and length of a Sprinter. Love the handling too.
