The amount we pay into the EU is pennies in the grand scheme of things

Sorry but it's typical little britain/daily mail/sun reader/golf club thinking. What this get out of europe sentiment is really about is immigration but no one would ever dare say it.

No, I don't like the idea of countries like Greece, who lied to get into the Euro, getting billions of our hard earned cash to stay afloat when it was their fault in the flipping first place! Nothing to do with immigration! We're in a shit enough state as it is before we go propping up doomed economies we get nothing back from. Perhaps you should stop reading The Guardian.

Perhaps you should start... :p

No! It's just the other end of the spectrum to the daily mail.

No, not at all. Although the Guardian does have a left wing bias, it is still a broadsheet, in the old sense of the word. It is the Times for the left leaning reader. The Mail is a comic pretending to be a paper for people just the left side of facism. The opposite would be the Socialist Worker, or Communist Times

Don't read any newspapers or have a tv, just do a bit pf research and have lived all over europe.

The Greece thing, hmmm nothing like the uk banks that lent money to the states which caused the sub prime mortgage fiasco which led directly to the monetary crisis that we're in at the moment then ? And after all that bailing out the banks are still riding rough shod over the public. Hilarious.

The sub prime mortgages situation started in the u.s. fanny mae was a well known one and from that debacle the house of cards came falling down within the banking/financial industry as most of it is built in trust

agreed the bankers despite being bailed out seem to be taking the pee again and from that most people and governments have learned not to bail them again

the same could not be said of the eu though could it.

Let me break it down to personal figures. If I had a hundred quid and gave an investor and I received a demand every year for more but actually got less and less every year who would be the stupid one?

The eu like unions at first were a good idea that very quickly became a trough for all the pigs to feed from

You only have to look at the European debt league to see the EU is finished. Leading more money to Greece so they continue meeting their debt payments is just delaying the inevitable. Its the same as paying off your Barclaycard with your Mastercard. There is NO money to reduce the debt, and all the while the interest increases the debt. When Greece goes, Italy and Spain will follow and cause the EU banking system to collapse. A referendum on staying in the EU is becoming more irrelevant by the day because there won't be an EU.

So what is Britain but a nice safe home for foreign billionaires to keep their cash, no questions asked about how they made it? And they don't have tp pay tax either!
I think you will find that the total amount of tax avoided in the UK by using legal loopholes and dodgy schemes is comfortably greater than Greece's entire economy.
