That must be about the most cheerful shade of blue known to man... Not sure how it goes with that handlebar tape though. Paradoxically, by bumping your bike I have moved it away from close proximity to the 'handlebar tape' thread.. :)

Vaguely unconventional rear brake cable routing... makes as much sense there as anywhere else I suppose... Probably more sense...

I'd go for black bar tape but other than that it's a cracking bike.

Any chance of close-ups of those Weinmann deltas please?

Nice

That looks really nice, I really like the shade of blue.
I agree, some close ups would be nice, especially those brakes.
I also agree with the bar tape not really being my thing, but each to their own, as long as it works for you.
Looks brilliant and imagine it would ride the same with that spec.
Great build, enjoy

Hi

Thanks everyone who has commented, been away in Jamie's neck of the woods ;)

Midlife I am really glad you think so as that was what I was aiming for, I was lucky enough to have been able to ride a Carlton in Lagoon blue, as ridden by Carlton team member Brian Jolly :D

Will do some close ups later this week when fingers crossed we get some nice weather and I might be able to have a ride on it too ;) :D

My artist friend was unsure about the Gold tape too but after seeing it in the flesh he was convinced, but as has already been said each to his own and I like it  :D

Cheers

Mark :D

Lovely bike. Nice to see something out of the norm.

Gold tape works for me picking out the detail from the crank dust caps and the black saddle with copper rivets combine really well with the black hoods and gold tape.

Cheers Tel you got it spot on what I was trying to do, it doesn't show up too well in the pictures but the stickers from Gil are a gold colour too, also part of the original plan was to match the valve plate thingy on the Ambrosio rims which are the XTR grey ones but not fitted yet.

The more I look the better it gets. Intentional or not (?) I'm liking the way the rear mech, headset and brakes all combike nicely with the black and silver finish.

Also could you please enlighten me as to what "NC17 bolts" on the gear levers are?
