Advise wanted; non-retro but new singlespeed

My mate bought an on-one recently, and to be fair I'm not overly impressed.
Build your own using a nice retro frame....plenty on here to look at for inspiration.

a friend of mine swears by On Ones, but the ones ive seen seem a bit cheap, badly made if you will... theres a couple of quite good hybridy ss bikes from Kona and spesh i think... or spec something yourself?

thanks guys,...

i will take a closer look at the Surley frames.

What do you guys think about the new KONA singlespeed frames, they look kinda nice...

How about a surly!!?

Went to the LBS yesterday and noticed the Kona Unit 2-9 in the window,..
Drove it,......and loved it,...

Chances are big that this is going to be the one!

Da Unit!

Friend of mine just bought the Voodoo Wanga, what a nice looking frame! Curvy seatstays, slidey drop outs, runs discs or V's (V mounts are removable) proper head badge and Sideways were (are?) selling them off cheap too.

He reckons it's a comfier ride than his Kona ss and he's well pleased with it.
