Nice story in in my local paper at the weekend:

The boy had the choice and gets to go to the museum payed for (assumed), of course no idea what else changed hands.
But its not always for the money, it'll be going to a good place for people to see.
 
I don't know how much the shop buys in bikes at cost, or then how much they add for profit. But I'd say the kid didn't get a great deal at all.

I'd have personally kept it just for the reason that it was my dads bike when he was a kid. I prefer the family heirloom angle on these sort of things.
 
the kid will not care about a bike that he won't fit in with down the parks :oops:

he gets a brand new top of the line Haro :shock:

i'm sure dads not to cut up as he has given his kid some thing that his money might not be able to buy ;)
 
Yup agree with that, I think the dad might also think it is nice that his bike will soon be sitting in the Haro Museum instead of being trashed down the skatepark.
 
Good point about the kid not fitting in with down the parks. I guess it's an era he never knew, so might not appreciate it for what it is.
