1993 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 FS

I've found an other fork with a M2 canti brace which fits the bike nice together with a DX headset all problems are solved. It's in a good working order :D

Are you coming to Apeldoorn this sunday?

Yep :D But not with my '89 stumpy :( I couldn't finish the build because I miss one part... a centre pull rear brake cable hanger... I was allready looking for one, but now I need two...

Cheers,
Will

Hi, I'm looking at one identical at the moment, just wondering if you know what the difference is between the M2 Stumpjumper and the M2 Sworks (apart from the XT componentry on the S Works)

cheers

The M2 Stumpjumper was built from straight-gauge M2 tubing, except for the externally butted seat tube. Claimed frame weight was about 3.8 # (1995, anyway).

The M2 Sworks was built from butted M2 tubing, with internally machined head and bb tubes. Claimed wieght was about half a pound lighter than the Stumpy.

The Stumpjumper M2's could have a fairly stiff ride to them, while the Sworks felt more supple, more steel like. Neither is classic-aluminum stiff in my experience (I was amazed the first time I rode my father's '97 Avalanche LE how it telegraphed the bumps to the seat).
