i've a bit of a gripe with these.
it always seems that the sets i buy, the rear light is of such a poorer quality compared to the front, that i often just throw it out due to lack of decent light it puts out, too many settings to flick through to get the bloody thing to turn off and a shitty bracket to mount on the bike.

so, I've been looking at these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-2012-Bicy ... 2c6782bb71

and these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150718811343? ... 1438.l2649

anyone used the one with laser guides before?
the second one seems to be a cheaper version of the cateye one which goes for about 7x the price of this one....

help appreciated as its getting dark quick!

I have the laser-beams one at home - I have yet to fit it to a bike.
If you are passing, you can have a look at it.
Its got lasers.
If you have a laser pointer as well, you can sort of mock-up a game of primitive Atari tennis.

Back to more serious matters, however. Whilst some of the cheaper light units themselves aren't so bad, usually its the mounts that are shoddy and made of really poor plastic, so you tend to find the batteries outlast the light fittings.

I bought the cat-eye one years ago and the mount has moved from bike to bike with no problems and is still nice and solid.

My Cat-Eye LED light from around 1990 is still going so havent used the cheap nasty crap that arrives along with the decent fronts.

As a driver, whatever gets you noticed is all I ask.

I got a fizik saddle 2nd hand and it came with a rather natty rear light that actually clips into the saddle. :D 2 modes steady and flash, its brill.

Laser bike lamps*??

I'm a little wary of the idea - any Highway Code-related implications with these?

After discussing this at work today, my colleague just informed me he had 'laser w**ker' shouted at him recently!

So they DO work ;)
