Rolling Stones

Not sure I could be bothered with the 60s Stones, they sound shite in most of the live footage I have seen.

They hit their stride musically in the 70s, and as a live phenomenon came into their own in the 80s. No other band works a stadium like it was a hundred seat speak-easy.

As thrilling and energetic as the Manchester scene was, it was small beer to the likes of The Who, Floyd and The Stones.

The only Manc band that understood stadium rock was Oasis, and they totally lost their edge once they got there.

When you see the Stones, it is much more than a mere gig.

Your whole life flashes in front of you, and all the things in it.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

Each to thier own as they say!

Must have been some substance you were on to have been transported back a whole decade.

The Stones are one of the few acts that transcend their live appearances.

They have you with their music and if you don't appreciate their music you really don't need to waste your time.

You don't need to be completely off your cake to enjoy them either, last time I was on a little weed and red wine.

Madchester was always about the substances, even if the music was sub par a lot of the time it was overlooked.
