NOS Merlin 1989

When I'm finish with the -89 I'll start building the -94 to her original configuration. She rides so nice on my everyday commute the way she is built right now, but I guess the original spec will do as well. I'll change back wken the roads get full of snow and salt. Stockholm city is a mess wintertime.

great stuff - you just need some black Tomac Attacks on those bars now.

and - what Classen said. I've got one for my McMahon - i'm a bit scared about setting it up though. Looks complicated.

great job but… I would prefer a turbo or more classic design saddle than this flite. Too modern on such a bike ;)

Are ODI mushroom's with ball ends ok or should I use the hexagonal Ritchy foam grips that was included?

Compared to the XT cantis, the Sissor brakes are a breeze to set up.

That is just lovely. Bikes like this are why I keep coming back here.

One day I will have one just like it. One day.....

I'm not sure I agree on the saddle, the Turbo was launched 1980 and the Flite 1990. Sure the Ti rail came first two years later. If you buy a frame made 89 and then collect parts for a while after, you most likely choose something new and not a ten year old design. Don't forget, this bike wasn't retro back in the days ;)
