Annual leave.

I've just got my annual leave summary for this year so far. I'm due 24 days per year, I still have 20 to take before the end of the year :(

And of course very little chance to take it in one lump. I've been trying to take a few days off for the last couple of weeks and haven't had a single chance. Sometimes I envy office bods with a nice 9-5, 5 days a week job.

Office Bods or in my case Office/Lab Bods usually have mind numbingly dull jobs. Its only the time off that keeps us sane. I'd happily have less anual leave for a job I enjoyed or at least gained satisfaction from.
Think this argument is the usual grass is always greener on the other side.
As for getting no time off at all, is that legal under UK and Euro employment law ?

Please explain this 'annual leave' concept!....try sick pay and company perks too whilst your at it!...... :?

After working 30 years in the public sector I get 33 days a year :D

Only managed to take 16 last year :(

Where did you hear/read that?

I get 26 and have the option to sell 6 of them or buy 4 more. I thought the legal minimum in the uk was two weeks.
