eBay query - find out who bought something

I lost out on something on eBay at the weekend and want to contact the winning bidder to try and buy it from them.

Other than waiting in the hope that either buyer or seller leaves feedback which will then show the item and buyer, is there another way if discovering the ID of the winning bidder?

I don't think so... maybe ask the seller? apart from waiting for feedback though, I don't think there's any other way.

I would think the only way you would know is if they left feedback for the seller?
