Merlin XLM

HastobeKona

Old School Hero
This has just arrived, I might have to take the rest of the day off so we can have some time alone ... I know, I've put it in the wrong forum its almost certainly newer than 1997 probably early 2000's. I've sent an email to merlinbike.com asking for a year of manufacture.

Merlin

Had the 6-4 version of this and it weighed 3.1 pounds! Made up into a stunning bike, but I found the head angle really steep and it handled like a Pig on ice (Very Badly indeed  )
Tried loads of different forks and lengths and couldn't get it dialled right. Some of the mags found the same, believe it's a 2003/4 model.

I think this is a 6/4 ? are you saying the fork angle is a bit steep? I guess that means it would be even worse with a rigid fork??. I think its 71 degrees. But everthing ive read says its a great bike for climbing and fast tight trails which is basically all there is round here. So i,ll build it up and see how it goes. What i probably need is an early merlin. ...
