I think I prefer the look of the defender if I am being honest. Guy at uni had an ex army mark 1 (I think) and when it actually worked, I remember not being able to talk to him when we were moving. If you cannot hear the stereo then it's a deal breaker in my book

Fit a louder stereo! Plenty room in the back for speakers and amps.

2001 Mercedes Benz Vito 108cdi 'The Yellow Peril'
130,000 miles with full service history.
12 months MOT
6 Months Tax.
Owned by me for 9 years now and converted to day van / camper / bike bus.
Fully insulated and trimmed out, Storage space for camping gear, 240v 1500w electrics, back up heavy duty, deep cycle lesure battery on split charging system, LED lighting, Mini Fridge, solid oak work top, buddy seat, stowage cupboard and built in tool box, privacy glass etc. Colour coded bumpers, genuine Merc alloys with unworn Continentals on the back and recent Lassa Mud and Snow radials on the front. Also fitted with tow bar and electrics.
Solid as a rock and completely rust free having been rustproofed every 3 years from new, recent new injectors, new main and back up battery, new driveshafts, new springs, bushes and a full exhaust. Serviced in July.
Paintwork sorted out and new single piece rear door fitted in July.
Great for nights and weekends away, still carries 3/4 bikes easily, cruises at 90 and will do 35 to the gallon even when pushed.

Latest in the Escort saga , just realised i've spent nearly £700 in the last few months :shock: , think i may need a sponsor
Was on the lookout for a pair of backwards TVR manifolds as i decided these were my only option due to space constraints, won these Chimaera ones on E-bay last week
Quite a last minute bidding frenzy for them, turns out they are popular for twin Turbo conversions.
As standard downpipes are Mah OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOsive, cut these off as i'll be reducing the ends somehow and welding on three bolt flanges.
Gash bits could do as spare funnels for the Titanic
Also scored this Mallory dual points Dizzy, £55, a bargain as a new one is £200 odd, lovely thing it is, body is machined from billet.
