Never seen so many as this year! Literally hundreds there for the taking! Or the leaving well alone! :)

There were a few on the FtD trails at Cannock on Sat. I ate a bit, floated over the rest of the trail, got a Strava record, threw up loads, kissed the sky, and sat chatting to this guy:

It's not pleasant, I can tell you.
I haven't seen any this year, though last year the common was heaving with them. That went for most mushrooms though.
I've never seen so many Ceps or Wood Blewitts.ll
Chicken of the Woods seem to be pretty plentiful this year though...

There's lots of fungi in the woods near me and some are supposed to be really good to eat, the trouble is that I don't know which and some of the poisonous ones are very, very poisonous with no antidote and will lead to certain death, even with medical help. :shock:
