Retro Newbie
I have had this bike for a good few years now, id say about 5 or 6, its evolved a bit in that time too, can anyone please have a go at telling me what frame it might be?

Its an alloy GT but thats as much as i know to be fair.

It was bought from someone who bought it off Pickle on here as far as i know.

Id love to get it sorted ready for some mucky winter riding!

Thanks!

Drop Pickle a line

Hi

Theres loads of Hardcore GT fans on here who will be able to give your the year as well as the model. but looks like a Zaskar to me
but check out this link
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45594

or the archive section http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/M ... rchive/GT/

Failing this drop pickle a PM or contact legrandefromage who I beleive is in regular contact with him, either way I'm sure you'll get far more info that you need.

and by the way welcome to Retro Bike

Not a zaskar curved end cap.

Always thought I'd be asking for trouble as I can't honestly say I know a great deal about GT's and just proved this

Has it got a canti guide on the seattube? roughly where that mud is on the photo

If it doesn't then it will be 1997 or later. Looks a lot like my 1997 Backwoods, a nice frame.

Tempest, avalanche, backwoods, all pretty much the same frame, all 7005 alu, same curved top tube cap.

I know this will put the cat among the pigeons but back in about 97/98 a friend of mine bought a Backwoods frame in Atomic Rust just because it had a 6061 frame on it ;)
