I have to admit - I am falling more for the looks of these bikes over how suited they are to my needs, is that a bad thing? Pace, Ritchey I really like looks wise - 650b might even solve a few issues I have with 29ers too (as I am a short arse).

yeah real eye candy indeed.

Loving your thought process TK trying to find the one bike that does everything is a laudable goal, I think I am almost there with my 29'er so would back up the bigger hooped bike idea cotics are nice looking bikes but just make sure the bike has rack mounts for those cross country epics ;)
