I think Sram did it on purpose to catch put unsuspecting people. I've done it too.

Simple solution is to not take the clamp off.

I only run shimano at the moment but this could save me a lot of annoyance and embarrassment in the future

I have only used Shimano before too but I have to say the finish quality on X0 is mighty impressive...even the little Hi and Lo screws have 2.5mm hex heads rather than shitty screwdriver heads
