Just been reading about all the applications for this treatment in the sporting world......anyone ever had a bike frame done ?

i know of people having engine internals done, very very good use of technology imho, dunno if it would work on bike frames, unsure on welds etc, cast stuff appears to be more effective
:D

yes it may make the weld weaker changing it's properties....or it may make stresses flow easier ??? it's meant to give better fatigue life in discs on brakes.......very interesting stuff.......cold annealing basically

In gerenral glad I dont have access to tanks of liquid nitrogen, it wouldnt be long before id freeze my hands off

Guy who sprint races a Lambretta has been getting the gear box components done for years as he was chewing them up something cronic. I dont think it's cheap though.

Interesting. Is it just another way of rapidly cooling the metal to make it harder but without needing to heat it up first?
