To remove the bearings from hope bb i use headset removal tool.

I think the Race Face system eats more BB's because they seem to be done up much tighter than the Shimano version, which only requires to be nipped up.

I've got a dead bb, but am going to replace the bearings so I have a back up.

I seem to remember another thread on here a while back giving the bearing number as 6805. I've never ordered/tried any myself though. Would be good if someone could confirm this as I have a dead shimano BB I'd like to revive.

I think its 6805 for the hope one? CUstom my arse.
Ebay would prove fruitful. Not sure on sizes for shimano or raceface though, not sure if the cups are identical?
Enduor do bearinsg for all though.

Ah thats not hope ones i dont think, they have 24mm inner. So no plastic top hat.

Yes, I think the Hope bearings have a 24mm inside diameter and there's no plastic cap, like the one shown in the link, that reduces the inner bearing hole to 24mm.
