Finished the last few bits tonight - decals and stuff.

Here's a pic from the garage, will do some more when I get it out and about.

It's pretty much everything I wanted it to be - for now!

Nice!
That’s the right choice of components for that frame, imho.
I’m not sure about the unpainted stem, though.
Cheers and enjoy it!

I know what you mean about the stem, it just feels too 'catalogue spec' for it to be painted though, this is supposed to be emulating a race bike of the time which presumably would have had all manner of prototype and custom stuff coming and going.

Also check this video of the 1990 worlds at 5 minutes and 37 seconds.......

Now it makes sense to me. ;)

Black stem cap

Yes that's the one - better get the black marker pen out!!

The stem looks very similar - the cable routing especially.

I am not convinced that racers would have used bullseye cranks though?

The arms/spider are nice enough but the BB/spindle design is way ahead of its time but let down by the quality of the bearings (absolute crap) and the way it fits together with all those spacers is a bodge IMO - I just wouldn't trust it not to all come loose and fall off.

I have read about the switch from campy stuff to shimano here:

http://mbaction.com/Mobile/News/Durango ... _3378.aspx

I am pretty sure others would have done the same BITD so I am going to have a bit of a play with this, maybe fit campy chainset and brakes....
