Surly Moonlander

its a fat life

was back down the same coast today, south lake district, just messed about in the water and a little ride up and down the shoreline.

even put the tires down some more, probaly 4psi at a guess....super soft and super grippy....basically the tread isnt as good as it was (1,200 miles so far) so wanted to do a little testing.

the tidal mud caused issues until they were almost flat, as did seaweed on the rocks.....but it still rocks every other terrain.

im still in desperate need of new tires....and the ones i ordered are still 3 month off

thought i would update with todays midweek ride to kielder forest.

love it up here, nice and remote, good place to clear the head and enjoy nature.....barely saw any humans in the time i was there, though lots of nature as usual.

was just a gentle ride around the reservoir, nice weather and fatbike was running sweet....pics as usual.

start point.

noticed the rear tire was a tad soft for the hard ground....rear wheel drifting was fun but not good for tire life!

pulled out my huge pump....and whacked a couple more psi in!

THat looks like a lovely place for a ride. For some reason I like riding around reservoirs. Normally a fair bit of wildlife etc.

yeah, its great, i tend to ride it on a weekend now and then but cant remember the last midweek ride.

probaly saw 10 people in first 10 mile then no one after that!

buzzards and allsorts being spooked by my tires...fantastic.
