After my recent failed attempt at a cheap racer I decided to try again and bought this today.

It seems to ride nice but needs new tyres.
They're size 27 x 1 1/4, can you still get this size or have they got a modern metric equivelant?
I also noticed that one inner tube has a schraeder valve and one a presta. I may as well change these with the tyres so what valve should I go for?

Ta very much, Naffa

I had a blue one of those in Er...................... just doing the mental maths.............1983, I think.
Reynolds 105?
Couldn't live with the flying saucer on the back wheel though, it met with the wire cutters. I wanted to look like Greg L'emon he didn't need one and neither did I.

Used it for my 16 mile each way commute to Billericay, worked a treat.

Brings back memories of my youth.... were's my slippers, Dear?

no way would that have come with 27" wheels as standard non non non!

anyway, it matters not if the clearance is ok for the tyre and brakes

What do you think would have been o.e on it?
They;re Rigida wheels btw.

Would've been 700c rims. Not a graet deal diifferent, a little smaller. Rigida chrome steel rims on Maillard bolt up hubs with Glavanised spokes were th OE choice if I remember rightly.
