93 Clockwork Ripe & Ready 30/03/13

I think M737 came out in 1994 so yours is right on the change over and you could probably get away with either I guess. I'd call a May frame as in the shops in 1993 but saying that, Orange were always one of the first to get the next years groupo. :?

Ok, so this was always going to be a Slow Burner, but yesterday the sun was out and i had some time on my hands so was able to give the Old Fruit some much needed attention.

After putting some wanted ad's out and digging deep into the Man Cave i finally cobbled together a groupset for the frame. No not perfect but its a start and i think it will work really well at least till i can source some more parts.

The following were fitted to the Frame;

Pace RC35's
NOS Shimano XT 735 Front Mech
Shimano XT 735 Rear Mech
NOS Shimano XT738 Cantilever/Shifter Levers
NOS 1" Ritchey Headset
Orange SK8 Stem
Orange HotRod Bars

Still to fit over the next few weeks;

Shimano XT734 Cantilever Brakes
Shimano XT BB
Orange Seatpost
Wheels & Tyres (Still undecided)
Grips (Still undecided)
Middleburn Crankset

Anyway here it is so far, thoughts and opinions always greatly received.

great! another '93 in da house.

also pleased to see the pulley wheel for the front mech too, was worries after first pics i saw. it's good how orange gave us the option for mech type.

yours looks very fresh now, enjoy it.

groupset-wise they are quite forgiving frames and carry almost whatever you install.

my orange/white has MT60, mainly and looks like it was always there faded and scraped nicely.

black though, needs a good regular shine so a re-spray was a good move.

will keep an eye out for when your cranks get installed, see how they look.

Looks fine so far. I was surprised to see the pulley as well. I didn't realise Orange fitted them.

Watching this with interest I have just bought a '94 clockwork which is currently silver/blue fade paint, but although the bike is original and has done very few miles from new, there are some large bits of paint missing, from poor storage I'd imagine.
The satin black finish is the one I remember from BITD, as a club member had one and I always liked it.

Very nice, my clockwork is black and they seem to be thin on th ground. Nice to see another.

93 Clockwork (Complete 30/03/13)

Ok, so its been a slow burner indeed, but good things come to those that wait. Today after what seemed like and eternity I finally got the chance to open the Man Cave, gather my parts and complete my Clockwork build. Now before I get slated for not going pure this is my build and has turned out exactly how I wanted it too. Yes there are a few 'Marmite' parts, and yes I know Snowflake Wheels aren't everyone's cup'o'tea, and I know coloured cables are also frowned upon but hey, its what I wanted
