Front mech fitting dilema

I bought a Campagnolo Veloce front mech for braze on frame out a year ago and didn't notice at the time the small curved plate/spacer that sits between the frame and the bolt was missing. Anyway it's a bit late to get back to the seller and now I need to use the mech. Has anyone tried fitting a mech without that part and if so, did it work? and does anyone know what the part I'm describing is called so I can try and track one down. Any ideas where I may locate one would be handy too.
Thanks, Adam

I've never tried it, but you might be able to use one of the curved washers that fit between a front brake and the fork crown. I seem to remember they come in all sorts of shapes (curves). I think I have a few somewhere, I'll have a look tomorrow and see if one of them might work. if I find one that works you can have it.

Also, I've interchanged the washer that you need between campagnolo and shimano mechs with no problem at all, so you don't really need the real campag part
