hi guys ime still trying to find out some info on this bike....2 weeks hunting and nothing.....any pics or reports would be a great help.....ive nearly finished the re-build,but ive never seen another one....only mine....even if you think it was utter garbage i still want to see another of this rare bike.I do have other proper bikes...i have a sun gt 10xl,and a specialized rockhopper fs comp with z4 bombers, but this ridgeback is for winter....cheers...paulie

I own a RidgeBack Cooler King. I had it from new in 1998. The front brake cable has perished where it has been in storage but other than that it is sound.

Certainly an odd bike but I had some great times on it.

I'll post a picture later!

Finally back to follow up on this post. As already stated, I have a Ridgeback Cooler King. I bought it back in 1998 for ~£400. The only things I've changed since new are new front brake disc & calipers and the rear tyre.

It's still going strong; I did Bath to Reading on it a couple of years ago and it was fault free. These days it's a bit like riding on an old sofa.

It looks to have taken a lot of influence from the early, 1996 onwards, Marin Rift Zone, Mt. Vision etc. Is it short in the cockpit or is that a trick of the photos?

Its very short so results in a fairly upright position. It was more comfortable over the 80 miles Bath to Reading than my old 2005 Trek 4300.

Definitely influenced by those Marins - almost a copy at the rear!
