I have found the cheaper ones to break pretty easy...on my third cheap one at the mo! The weak point tends to be the bar that you twist to tighten they seem to be made of toffee and bend real easy. I have ending up getting a steel rod of the same diameter to use instead. The one I have now has a flap that covers the top of the chain once you have located the chain in the device. A definate advantage to have that flap...helps to keep the chain straight and allows the chain pin to be pushed straight.
