NWA regional ride: Goyt Valley and Buxton

db5b.jpg

:: Date: Sunday 2nd September 2012
:: Distance/time: 16 miles - about 5 hours of riding, talking, eating pie and chips.
:: Meeting at: lay-by on A5004/Buxton Road just south of Whaley Bridge. Google map here: --> http://goo.gl/maps/mYBa4
:: Time: 10am for 10:30am start.
:: Terrain: Typical Peak district terrain with loose rocky climbs and descents. Much of the route is on quiet lanes and some well surfaced forest fire roads.

It was nearly two years ago that we original attempted this ride, but heavy snow meant a few changes to our plans. The ride still went ahead albeit slightly shortened due to failing light.
We probably ran out of time because we spent so long in the pie shop in Buxton.

There is an aftermath here which looks fairly epic: --> http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=130356

All welcome. Hope to see a few people there or thereabouts.

Great stuff count me in, im really looking forward to this one :D

I'd like to do this but not sure I could managed the 2nd of August [See title " NWA regional ride: Goyt Valley and Buxton ~ 02/08/12"]... Sunday the 2nd of September makes more sense but I might be cream-crackered from the NE and Yorkshire ride the day before. So might see you there.

Anyone else think that they might be around for this?

What a cracking idea for a ride, and on a convenient date, I'd love to come please :cool:

:LOL:

Hope it's a little warmer this time and I promise* not to steal anybody's pie...

* fingers crossed

Don't think I will be able to come afteral, as I'll be riding the day before and I'd have to get up at silly o'clock to get here. :shock:

No Promises, but will try my best.

If I'm not there by 10:15 don't hang around for me.

cheers
