The RB 'what I bought/ found/ scrounged' this week thread

waiting on a bunch of stuff:

lx 7 speed rapidfire from a retrobiker

onza barends and silver shimano spd's from a retrobiker
and then some canti triangles from the same guy [i cant stay off of mtb for sale]

bearings and a headset from universal cycles

a couple of 13mm cone wrenches / headset removal tool / cable cutter /etc from bike nashbar

and a saddle bag / aluminum tire irons /IG70 chain / icetools combo wrench from amazon

a set of wheels for the M60 was refunded on ebay, they said after i bought them they found a flaw in the front hub, unrepairable so im still looking for a set of mc12's [32 hole] original rims were vuelta vxc 2.2's [dont get me started on the lack of info or availability of these rims], but the back has been changed to a rm40 [36 hole] on an araya 26x1.5 HE VP-20 so im looking for a better matching pair.

A pair of NOS Porcipaws at the Magic LBS, and a pair of VVGC King/Mavic 217 Wheels off kijiji. Funny thing, when I met the guy to buy the wheels it was someone I raced DH against 16 years ago. Small world.



Another kijiji find. Picked up a flawless Cramerotti road bike in full on hipster mode from a quickly going broke Uni student. Full Tri Colour 600 Ultegra group. Luckily he kept the OEM bars/stem/tires, so I can turn it back into a real bike in a few minutes.

Stopped in at the Magic LBS again. They have moved to a new location, and the owner was clearing out stuff at the old shop before the lease ends at the end of the month. He was going through old catalogs and binning most of it. Gave me this cool Rock Shox/Brian Lopes poster he found.



This weekend should be good. The back-back-back room is finally getting cleared out. I'll be there picking on Saturday. I better bring the VISA just in case.

Took the back way home yesterday as the expressway was full on bumper-cars. Passed by a house and this was leaned up against a tree at the end of a driveway looking all forlorn and in want of a new home. Stopped and threw it in the back of the car. It, and another BSO I rescued from the neighbour on junk day last month will be getting donated to the bike Co-Op in Hamilton on Saturday morning.

Picked up a set of hope hoops.Black pro2's on dt Swiss 4.2D.To use for my winter wheels and keep my fab red ti glide/sus on red 517's salt free
Also got a hope tech X2 rear to convert to my purple ano stuff.Got both callipers and a lever so just another lever to find
Might have to opt for a new lever because although the are callipers for sale separately ive yet to see a lever by itself
