Neil Armstrong dead

In the days of trashy celebrity... we won't see his like again...

Truly sad news.

I wonder if he's left a massive expose in his will.

We never made it to the moon, didn't make it out of orbit . . . .

Truly an outstanding human being, we could do with a few more like him.

There's an excellent documentary about him floating around possibly with Louis Theroux, sure to be lots of space programs on the TV in the next couple of weeks.

Very shocked to hear he passed

From one Armstrong to one of the greatest Armstrongs on this planet
WE WILL MISS YOU

AND THANK YOU

Very hard to understand the bravery these men must have had. To go somewhere nobody had ever been, in untried technology when one error would mean instant death.

Unfathomable.

Instant death was the 'good' option.

Think, the last time anyone did anything like it before was those men who travelled to the edge of this planet. But to leap off into the vacuum tool an even bigger set of cojones.

Read Tom Wolfes 'The Right Stuff'. Not so much about Armstrong but the early test pilots. Amazing book. The movie is OK but the book is brilliant.

How did them big shiny-shiny thingmies end up there, then, that universities and other places bounce lasers off?

Aliens left 'em there?
