Specialized Frame ???

Dirt Disciple
Maybe one of you Specialized Guys out there may be able to help me out identifying the model of alloy frame I picked up at a Car Boot the other day.

SpeciazedFrame.jpg

The Frame markings are : P1 JC 30211 and what appears to be : BI 1267

Curiously, Specialized Customer Service (UK) has no record of these numbers

It's deffo not a P1 as the number suggests, as these were Cro-Mo.
It looks like a Hardrock, but there are subtle differences. :?
(note the lack of curved 'bracing-strut' nr nearside dropout)
Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers

The chainstays don't look quite right for a Hardrock unless they were different on the small frames. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Specialized???

It certainly doesnt look like any Specialized alloy frame with that rear chainstays.
It may well be something else resprayed and decals applied. The position and size of the decals is not standard either.

the disc brake brace wasn't added till circa 04/05 models

does it have an S logo anywhere(not stickers embossed on the frame)
seatpost size is usually 30.9 with a 34.9 front mech band

any pics of the rear mech hanger

Cheers Guys
@cyfa2809 and mike franks:
Measured the Frame now (which I should have done at the Car Boot ! ). It's only 15" ! Drat !
I'm only 5' 5" but it might be a bit small even for me ?
I was intending to source all the neccessary bits from a 'donor' 2004 Carrera FS Banshee and have a hardtail :(

@ bigmick
White Specialised S decal on front of headstock. Decals seem to be professionally applied to paint which appears original rather than a respray.

Just received the following e-mail from Specialized Customer (UK):

The frame in the picture looks a little like a Hardrock of 2003/2004 vintage. Although it has been resprayed at somepoint so identifying it with any degree of certainty will be very difficult.

Cheers y'all
