where can i find one of these?

hope this is in the correct section.

need help on where to find the small bearing cup that screws onto my forks. was expecting to be able to unscrew the one from my old forks, but no such luck!

can anyone point me in the right direction??

they are a press fit. Have another go at the old one with a mallet and tap it off. Otherwise you're probably looking at picking up another headset.
 
It's the crown race you're talking about, and here's a recent thread about the joys of removing them.

Depending on the type of headset you have you may be able to buy a replacement crown race rather than an entire headset.

Go gently and good luck.
 
Most LBS will remove it for nothing. It takes seconds with the proper tool. Be careful with the screw driver that you do not damage the crown race seat.
 
Have you got a vice? if so then open it so that the forks slide through and the jaws are on both sides of the crown race and use a block of wood and mallet on top of the forks...... plenty of padding either side and get someone to catch the forks :)
