I really like my scwalbe hurricanes, because they don't look like a slick tyre and suit an MTB much better!!!

Hurricanes are good but I found them heavy!

Ritchey Speedmax are pretty good if you can find them cheap (ie under £13 each)

Michelin Country Rock are a bargain, used and liked them!

I've got the Michelin country rocks on my ss stumpy and they are really good for the money. Roll and corner nicely on the road and have quite surprising tenacity off road. Can't go wrong for a tenner IMHO.

Agree. Lasted ages too.

I have used Schwalbe Marathons the first year on my Rafty, as I thought to be using it more on road. But I have ridden it may times off road as well in Italy and only with rain (mud and slipery stones) they were not so good, otherwise, including "strada bianca" with shapr stones. Very good puncture protection and give a lot of confidence on high speed road decents. Still use the same pair on my 1988 Giant that I use as a training bike, so they last as well.
