That's a cracking picture though...over the bar crashes like that always feel like they happen in slow mo. You know what's going on buy are powerless to do anything about it.
 
I was thinking of going to a single ring upfront, do you think the chain jumped and caused it?

I doubt it, not a crash like that. Only way that would really happen was if it jumped and he grabbed loads of front brake which isnt really the chains fault. Its at the rear so shouldnt cause you to flip over the bars.
The chain can jump on any setup if setup incorrectly.
 
The guy taking a picture with the white baseball cap will be gutted when he looks.

How did the photographer know to stand there? As i wouldn't stand right in front of a cyclist at speed.
 
I suspect he used one of those modern newfangled 'zoom' lenses... Saves having to stand in the way of bikes, Formula one cars, Lions, the Ocean, etc..
