Didn't the Americans do this a few years ago. The oil firms quickly shut them up and said it was dangerous/too expensive/might ruin their business.

There's lots that the oil cartels have sunk as it is usual for oil companies to buy technologies in order to fully investigate and that technology is never heard from again. I have heard of engines running on water before and I believe there was a suggestion in the past that water injection actually increased the performance of petrol.

Diesel engines were never designed to run on hydrocarbon diesel fuels we use today, they were designed as an agricultural engine to be fuelled by vegetable oil, but I believe after WW2 in stepped the oil companies with what is now called diesel oil, which was a waste product from petrol production, so a winner for them, but maybe not a winner for those that have to breathe the exhaust of the stuff, as readers might remember I believe there is a link between diesel fumes and various human cancers.

But water as fuel, I don't know if anyone saw the fictional movie ; Battle Los Angeles, an odd movie from 2011 where the theme was aliens from space had invaded Earth for it's water and the water was being used as a fuel for their technology.

But another fuel that we could use and has been used successfully in the past notably in WW2 when fuel was in short supply;

and someone playing with it today to power a vehicle ;

and I have built and used the ' midge', a mightily impressive cooker, ( the backpacking variant) ;

But alas oil, there is too much dependant on it, no wonder alternative technologies get effectively stamped on, as just what would we fight about if we did not need oil ?

Where I experiment with various ideas is out at the smithy I rent out in the sticks and have on the list of things to try, various VAWT generators, a Bedini SSG generator and a wood gas gasifier in the hope the wood gas could be used as a fuel for the forge seeing as coke is getting scarcer, oh and just have to make a propane powered spud gun, anything alternative interests me and my compatriot, the old nutter of a blacksmith.

I used to work for an oil and mineral research company, the general concensus was that there was more oil than the oil companies said there was.

I hope this India thing is true and that things move forward for everyone.

Don't cars running on water require a hydrogen tank within the car? Sure i've seen that in cars running on water before....not a nice though that it isn't just your no claims bonus that goes bang when you have an accident!!
