Retro Newbie
Hi all,

Total newbie so apologies if I don't adhere to etiquette.. (let me know tho')

I just found a Peugeot Aneto down my local tip in great condition (see attachment hopefully)
and the only components that are not original are the chainset and the rear mech..

Has anyone got or seen these parts for sale.
The chainset is a Nervar 42/52 square tapered like this (second entry in topic)
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=652173

And the rear mech is a huret rival 6 speed (The one currently on the bike is a Shimano Exage 400EX 7 speed i believe)[/img]..

any other suggestions re: restoring the pug would be most appreciated.

thanks

Hi

Not being funny here but I would stick with the Gipiemme chainset as it is probably better than the original, but I would definitely change the rear mech ;)

Mark :D

Thanks

I'm sure it is better although it is a bit worn. I'm trying to restore the bike to be as orignal as possible which i'm sure isn't particularly good quality.

I have found this on ebay and was wondering whether the inner ring could be taken off. Is that possible or a naive suggestion?

Yes all the rings on that chainset are removable the inner will come off but will leave threaded holes in the outer arms which is not really a problem ;)

I understand that you are trying to restore the bike to original spec and respect you for doing so :D
